Day of Miniature Gamers

Spinning off from our long running “Day of Boardgamers”, for 2025 we present a day for the miniatures gamers to come out, and play on big tables at a new venue - The United Commons Fellowship Hall in downtown Victoria.

Day of Miniatures will run on Saturday, May 24th at 932 Balmoral Road, Victoria, B.C. from 10.00am to 8.00pm - with time for two gaming sessions.

Pre-Registration

You can pre-register for games here. There will be a chance to sign up for games on the day; but we much prefer those wanting to run games to do so well in advance - it lets people see what’s on during the day and make decisions to attend.
To host a game or sign up for a hosted game go here

Registered games so far:

Mordheim "The Haunting"

Guilders "The Night Where Nothing Happens"

Classic Battletech "The Battle of Thermopolis"

Midgard Heroic Battles

Grimdark Future - a one pager ruleset

SMOL tanks - Quick Play game with odd little tanks

What sort of games do we expect? Anything you could class as a miniature game - Battletech; Trench Crusade; Warhammer 40k; Mordheim; Napoleonics; your own home brew game - all we require is it plays for at least 4 players; and if you are hosting you make it clear if people need to bring their own game parts or not. Sessions will be 4 hours to allow set up, rules and play.

If you are unsure, contact us. We do have space for 4-6 smaller heads up tables if you want to run a faster paced tournament. Again, contact us!

Health, Safety and Code of Conduct

By attending this event, we expect you to agree and abide by this code of conduct. Anyone who break the code may be asked to leave the event - and refunds will not be given.

1. Conduct Yourself in a Professional Manner

Please keep your manner polite and respectful, even if other people around are not. If you have questions or objections, make it clear with no personal attacks. The game hosts decision is final, please respect them, but feel free to discuss issues after the game if needed.

Anyone engaging in hate-speech of any kind; including sexist comments or racial slurs will be asked to leave. This includes wearing of any items of clothing that has offensive messages or symbols on it. Any physical or verbal harassment of anyone at the event - attendees, organizers or volunteers will not be tolerated, and you will be asked to leave.

2. Respect the Figures, Models, Terrain and Game Aids You are Using

The game host has spent money and time painting the figures and terrain. They have spent money and effort providing the game charts and rules. Don’t throw, drag or mishandle the miniatures - that goes for your items as well as anyone else’s. Never place items on top of the miniatures. Never place food or drinks on or near miniatures or terrain on the game table and never touch figures, terrain, or game aids with greasy or food-stained fingers.  Eat and then wash up before the game.

3. Games Sign Up

Signups will be available in advance. Any games still looking for players will have sign ups on the day of the event available at the welcome desk.

  • Each game has a maximum number of registered players, and those who sign in those spots are guaranteed a place in the game.

  • Each game sign-up sheet has additional spaces for alternate players.  If a registered player is unable to participate, or does not appear within 10 minutes of the start of time of the game, the game host will add players, in order the appear, from the alternative player list.

  • If you have signed up for a game and decide before the game starts not to participate, please strike your name through that spot on sign up sheet (either online or in person).

  • If a registered or alternative player position has a name crossed off, DO NOT PLACE YOUR NAME IN THAT SPOT.  Once a sign-up spot has been used, it is not available for re-use.  Add your name to the next available unused registered or alternative player spot.

  • Do not sign up as a registered player for more than one game per gaming period.  If you are signing up as an alternative player, you may put your name in for more than one game, but if you are not at the table when the game host calls your name, you will lose your position on the alternative list.

  • You may not proxy sign up for anyone else.

4. Appear at the Gaming Table in a Timely Manner

If you are a registered game participant, be sure to arrive and introduce yourself to the game host at least 5 minutes before the game is scheduled start time.  If you have not arrived with 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, you may be replaced with a player from the alternative name list.

5. Health and Emergencies

Enigmatic Events Collective Inc has third party insurance in case of accidents where we are liable. The venue has accident coverage. This doesn’t cover you for any misadventure where you are liable, or if you are liable for injury to someone else. There will be no onsite registered first aid base. If you are injured and need medical attention, we will call an ambulance/paramedic for you. This covers us and you. The venue has multiple fire escapes, and in the event of any emergency, volunteers and organizers will make an announcements and guide you out of the nearest safe exit. Once the venue is deemed safe, you will be able to return and collect your belongings - or continue with the event if applicable.

There is one main entrance to the venue which will be staffed all day. You will be required to show your ticket on re-entry to the venue for security purposes.
