You Play Murder Mysteries
The murderer is among you!
A murder mystery night takes you into a whole new world! With this package, you and your guests become the characters in the story. Maybe one of the party goers is trying to get away with some dastardly deeds. Perhaps the host has secretly been a puppet master pulling strings all along! It could even be that everyone has a secret to hide. Being part of the mystery and deciding where the night ends up is hugely rewarding and gives you and your party guests something to talk about for years to come.
You Play Murder Mysteries are a package for groups looking to investigate a mystery while playing characters. This format is perfect for small teams or close knit social groups. Each murder mystery guest will get to take the role of a unique role of a person they become for the event. We supply the character backgrounds and you play the parts! You’ll get to interrogate your guests, accuse one another, and solve a crime!
How it Works as the Organizer
As the organizer, you receive a list of playable characters from the Enigmatic Events Collective team. Then with our help, suspect and witness roles are assigned to party guests. Everyone is sent information about their character by email before the event. After reading over the information, it’s time for the murder to be revealed!
This style of play allows all your guests to participate in character! It’s so much fun to be fully immersed in the experience. No matter where you choose to have your event, our hosts bring all the character sheets and evidence, facilitate introductions, and start the timer to begin the mystery solving. Don’t worry, we’ll reveal all at the big finale at the end of the night!
How it Works as a participant
You’ll either be a Suspect or a Witness. Suspects are given a specific role to play ahead of time. They will get information about their character, their background and what they know about the case. They will still get to investigate the case - sometimes to throw everyone else of their scent if they are the guilty party.
Witnesses may get a smaller character description in advance, and at the event a lot more information and clues to the case. They’ll need to question the suspects, compare clues with each other and try to put the pieces together. It’s a game of observation, following leads and eliminating possibilities until only what ever remains, however improbable, is the truth.
In any case, on arrival you’ll get printed copies of everything you need to play the game. Our hosts will run an introduction to go over the rules of the game, set the scene and then get the Suspects to introduce themselves (briefly).
And then the game is afoot! Everyone starts talking, looking for clues and trying to work out who had the means, motive and opportunity to commit the crime.
At some point, our Host will start to wind things down and ask for everyone’s accusations to be handed in. And then the big reveal - where most of the secrets are revealed and you find out who the great detectives in your group are!
