An Original Enigmatic You-Play Mystery
Every year the English Department at Somesuch University holds a Christmas Party for faculty, students, and alumni. Every year, for the last ten years, Professor Flannery runs a treasure hunt. And every year, he gets a little too drunk and forgets some key part of the hunt.
1995 is a banner year for the Professor, though. This year, he’s forgotten to turn up for his own treasure hunt. Being dead is his excuse, but the Somesuch University rulebook doesn’t actually list “lack of life” as an acceptable excuse - medical emergencies only count with a doctor’s note. Most people can tell he’s dead by the large amount of blood on the floor around him, and the scissors stuck out of chest; but this is an English Department. A PhD in mid-15th Century Chap Books doesn’t allow one to sign a death certificate.

The Suspects
Professor Flannery – The victim. Senior Lecturer in creative writing, and sometime author. He loves a good drink, and a good debate with his students and peers.
Doctor Daly - Head of the Department - what Gilbert lacks in teaching and research skills is more than made up by their ability to run the department.
Professor Wells - A serious professor who deals with the fine detail of literary criticism.
Ellis Partlet - Head of the support staff in the department.
Bob Beckett - Senior TA for Flannery, having worked with him for the last three years.
Jay Cripps - Lover of research, mostly with Professor Wells. Even more straightlaced than than their boss.
Avery Corcoran - PhD student of 3 years ago working on a treatize on the modern Detective Novel.
Alexis Florin - A first year undergraduate, one semester into the program.
Blake Moncton - A talented final year student, who if they read as much as they drank would be at the top of their class - but they don’t.
Sidney Olo - A second year transfer student who writes poetry when not singing in a rock band.
Ronni Young - A bubbly first year undergrad who has been relying on their decent oral debate and presentation skills to pass all their classes.
